State of the Sector Report by the Environmental Stewardship Group

The ESG are pleased to launch the State of the Sector report following the 'Year 0' activities in which the sector came together through a series of roundtable events to identify the concerns, challenges, hopes and aspirations of the sector in regards the Climate Emergency.

ESG - Owner Operator - 3rd Round Table Event

On Tuesday the 6th of July the third and final round table in the first series of the Environmental Stewardship Groups look at the state of the sector in respect of the climate emergency and carbon reductions took place.

ESG - Funeral Directors - 3rd Round Table Event

Thursday the 8th of July saw the ESG welcoming representatives of the Funeral Director profession at their 3rd round table event.

ESG - Environmental Policy Statement

The Environmental Stewardship Group are pleased to announce the groups Bereavement Sector Environmental Policy Statement to help provide further support and guidance for the bereavement sectors response to the climate emergency and UK climate change goals.

ESG - Government Department - 2nd Round Table - 8th June 2021

On the 8th of June 2021 the second-round table event took place with representatives from several government departments.

On the 10th of June the second-round table event of suppliers was held with representatives from a wide range of suppliers affiliated with the Bereavement Sector.

May the 13th 2021 saw the second-round table event dedicated to the Funeral Director section of the Bereavement Sector.

On the 1st May 2021 we embarked upon our 2nd round table event with owner operators from within the sector.

On the 8th April the ESG had its fourth round table event in the series, this time with Suppliers to the sector.

The ESG was delighted to welcome a number of key Government departments to the first of a series of three round table events for the bereavement sector.

The first in the series of the Owner Operator Round tables took place on the 16th March, where the ESG was introduced to the industry and the aims identified.

The first in a series of three roundtables for Funeral Directors took place on the 18th March, where a great cross section of this division of the sector was well represented.

Environmental Stewardship Group Launch

On the 1st March 2021 the Bereavement Sector saw the launch of a collaboration between the Cremation Society of Great Britain, the Institute of Cemetery and Crematorium Management, the Federation of Burial and Cremation Authorities and the CDS Group under the title of the Environ
